What are the uses of ceramic plungers

Home    Ceramic material knowledge    What are the uses of ceramic plungers

The plunger is a part of the pump that only comes into contact with the seal/packing and the pumping medium during use. However, if encountering high pressure, highly abrasive or corrosive media, or very high linear velocities, then this plunger is made of ceramic material. The application scope of ceramic plungers made of different ceramic materials varies.

Ceramic plungers are suitable for most saltwater, chemical, and metering applications. The ceramic grade of IEQ (Indoor Environmental Quality) special formula can achieve a standard 8 RMS surface finish, significantly extending the life of the filler.

IEQ (Indoor Environmental Quality) ceramic plungers come in both hollow ceramic and solid ceramic designs. The IEQ (Indoor Environmental Quality) adapter is made of durable stainless steel and can successfully resist corrosion. Using proprietary technology to bond ceramic bodies onto stainless steel adapters, extremely reliable performance is achieved on-site.

When corrosion resistance and wear resistance are required and the lifespan of the packing needs to be extended, the performance of ceramic plungers is unparalleled. However, ceramic plungers are not optimal for all applications. For example, it is not recommended to use them for pumping hazardous materials.

Application of ceramic plunger: hydraulic cleaning equipment; Power devices in mining; Metering pump (distribution pump); High pressure pump used for water flow cutting.
